Do The Management Really Know Their Staff?

Acknowledgement-- I came across the following write up in one of the HRD magazines the other day.Though it did appear a case of exaggeration,I found it an interesting reading worth sharing with others.

Quote---On walking into the factory the MD noticed an young guy leaning against a wall, doing nothing. He approached the young man and asked him calmly "How much do you earn"? The young man was quite amazedthat he was asked such a personal question by someone, whom he did not know but nonetheless replied"I earn two thousand dollars a month,Sir,Why?"Without answering the MD took out his wallet and removed 6000Dollars in cash and gave it to the young man and said"Around here I pay people for working and not for standing around whileling away the time. Here is your three months salary. Now get out and don't come back."The young man turned around and was quickly out of sight.

Noticing a few onlookers the MD said in a very upset manner"And that applies to one and all in the company."He then approached one of the onlookers and asked him "Who is this young man whom I had just fired?"To which an amazing reply he got."He was the Pizza delivery man,Sir."

Dear Reader Howdo you like this even if it be a case of exaggeration?

BE THE BEST

Quote:
"If I were a Cobbler
It would be my pride
The best of all cobblers to be.

If I were A Tinker
No Tinker beside me
Should mend an old kettle like me ."

Unquote: And hence the moral-------
Greatness of any individual lies not so much on the person's status, authority or wealth but what is more important on the degree of prefection the person achieves in any task done.
We all should strive to become perfect in our work. However ,absolute perfection, being an integral part of the ever continuing process of improvement is,by itself, not achievable. The least we should strive to achieve is therefore what has been so aptly eepressed by the two simpletons, the Cobbler and the Tinker in the quote above. That is to be able to do our work so well that none else should be able to do it better.
Come Friends,Let us join hands to become the best in whatever task we undertake to do.I know we have the intrinsic Quality dormant in us to achieve the same. All that is needed is a will to blossom it to the front.

FOUR PEOPLE

"EVERYBODY,SOMEBODY,ANYBODY and NOBODY
There was an Important Job Undone
Every body was asked to do it
Everybody was certain that Somebody would do it
Anybody could have done it
But Nobody Did it.

Somebody was angry because it was Everybody's Job
Everybody thought Anybody could do it
But nobody realised that Everybody could not do it
It Ended Up With------
Everybody blaming somebody when in fact
Nobody asked Anybody."
